Moorooduc is a small area south of Frankston and east of Mornington. It is comprised mainly small farms and orchards. The name is purported to be Aboriginal meaning swamp or flat area. The Frankston to Mornington railway passed through it, but only a small section of it now operates as a tourist railway.
The Moorooduc Quarry ceased operations many years ago, and the area around it is now a nature reserve.
