It might seem strange to have a Pelican in Eudunda. They prefer coastal areas rather than wheat feilds miles from the coast. But this particular penguin has a unique connection to this area. This Pelican represents Mr Percival, the pelican in the story Storm Boy, written by Colin Theile who was born in Eudunda on the 16th November 1920. He wrote many books and in 1976 he wrote Storm Boy which went on to become a Movie filmed in and around the Coorong, South Australia.
