Geocache Description:

Be prepared for a short but rugged hike through this pristine piece of undeveloped Metro Parks property called the Hundred Acre Wood. Adventure surely awaits you as you search for this well-hidden cache. How you get there is up to you! Dogs must be on a leash.

Putting on the GeoTrail every year takes a lot of work, and we couldn't do it without the help from the geocaching community. Thanks to oO_KorenAdventure_Oo for helping us look after this cache!

Congratulations to the First To Find: dprice95!

In 1904, sick chestnut trees were discovered in New York City. Within 40 years, an estimated 4 billion American chestnuts were dead, killed by a disease called Chestnut Blight. This fungal infection caused the near extinction of one of the dominant trees in North America and fundamentally altered our forest ecosystems. Chestnut Blight fungus arrived here in imported Japanese chestnut trees, highlighting the importance of planting native plants rather than exotic ones.
