Geocache Description:

The Cowpen, Blyth Word War One Memorial commemorates 59 local servicemen. It's located on the junction of Briardale Road and Cowpen Road and was built in 1920. The memorial was restored, and the names of 16 servicemen who died in the World War were added. The memorial is a limestone statue of a soldier on top of a column.
The Blyth War Memorial, which also commemorates servicemen from New Deleval, Newsham, and Bebside, was originally located outside the Knight Memorial hospital on Beaconsfield Street. It was unveiled on November 17, 1923, by the Duke of Northumberland.
