Watch for beavers and other wildlife as you walk around the Beaver Lake area of Prairie Oaks Metro Park. This cache is in a floodplain, so be careful after a heavy rain. Be prepared for mud!
Putting on the GeoTrail every year takes a lot of work, and we couldn't do it without the help from the geocaching community. Thanks to Rogers256 for helping us look after this cache!
Congratulations to the First To Find: MermaidTracker!
For over 20 years, the Emerald Ash Borer has been killing ash trees in Ohio and altering our forests. These small green beetles arrived in wooden shipping pallets and spread quickly throughout eastern North America. The beetles themselves are not destructive, but their flat, white grubs feed on the living tissue under the bark of ash trees, digging tunnels and eventually blocking the flow of nutrients through the plant.
