On May 2, 2000, the United States government discontinued restrictions of GPS accuracy, making GPS technology more accurate for everyone. May 2 became known to geocachers as “Blue Switch Day.” This event was significant to regular citizens in the geocaching community, as it enabled the hobby to flourish due to the improved accuracy of GPS. We, in particular, have become spoiled... In a few posts, we actually typed..... "coordinates off by 30 feet" 30 feet? 30 feet? Seriously, if we can find a camouflage taped peanut butter container within 30 feet, we're doing pretty well. :)
This particular hobby became an important part of our life in 2021. It is amazing to see how many places we walked by before geocaching and had no clue something was hidden there. Now, as we drive or walk from cache to cache, we frequently point out places that we found caches. Life is good and we enjoy every moment of the celebration!
We hope you enjoy making this find as much as we did in placing it!
