Welcome to the new Anthony Wayne Trail Trail. This is a brand new paved walking/bike trail along side of the renovated Anthony Wayne Trail in Maumee Ohio. I do not know if it has an official name yet, but I am calling it the Anthony Wayne Trail Trail (or should that be Trail Squared?). Anyway, this is the eighth in the series of caches I had planned along its path. In my initial plans, this was going to be the last in the series as I have now almost reached the western end of the new multi-use trail. I already have another cache (GC8E4PA) that is a few hundred feet from the current western end of the multi-use trail, so I am not able to add another cache in this series at the very end, unless I archived that other geocache. While it might sound like this should be a bit of a sad milestone. It is not! Since the time I originally planned the geocaches in this series, Maumee has continued to expand this multi-use trail to the northeast. Yesterday (May 1, 2025) there was an official ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the finish of THIS 3.5 mile long multi-use trail. The newer sections of the trail adds about 2.25 miles more length to the trail. SO, it looks like I will now have to plan more geocaches to be placed on the new trail sections over the next couple of years. YAY!
If there has been rain recently, you may need to hop over standing water in a ditch to reach GZ. If the water is too deep or wide, you may need to walk a bit down the trail to find a better spot to cross the ditch.
