Geocache Description:

The Legend of Arthur Dobe (the great Midge Point fisherman).

Midge Point is known to the locals as one of the best fishing spots around. It’s a very small fishing village that consists of the infamous Point Tavern now days (where you will be sure to get a great fed!).

The Legend of Arthur Dobe is born! 1985 saw Arthur & his wife Betty retire and move to Midge Point to enjoy and live out the remainder of their long & fruitful labour.

During the school holidays the little village would bustle with locals & their families. Many fish & crab would be caught and shared.

Betty passed away in 2019 aged 92 and as the saying goes, Arthur wasn’t too far behind passing of a 'broken heart' in 2021 aged 97.

Legend has it, Arthur's ghost can still be seen fishing between the islands off the coast of Midge Point.

Small lockbox which slides open, pencil & logbook inside.

Happy finding, fishing & crabbing! 🙂
