GeoCache di San Martino
Il luogo è facilmente raggiungibile in auto e bici. Non prevede escursioni a piedi. Fate attenzione che non vi siano animali o insetti pericolosi nel nascondiglio !
Il cache si trova all'ingresso del paese di Proceno (VT), proprio sul punto in cui un tempo sorgeva l'antico accesso di "Porta romana". Potrete ammirare qui la chiesa di San Martino, conosciuta da i procenesi come la chiesa “dei frati”, in quanto nel Medioevo era parte di un convento che sorgeva sulla sua destra. Di origine gotica, si presume che la chiesa sia stata costruita intorno al 1200. Abitato inizialmente dall'ordine dei benedettini, nel 1258 fu consegnato ai Frati Minori Conventuali che vi risedettero fino a quando Napoleone Bonaparte soppresse gli ordini religiosi. Successivamente il monastero fu demolito. Difronte la chiesa è situato il parco delle rimembranze in onore ai caduti procenesi della prima e seconda guerra mondiale.

The cache is located at the entrance to the town of Proceno (VT), right on the spot where the ancient access of the "Roman gate" once stood. Here you can admire the church of San Martino, known by the people of Proceno as the church "of the friars", as in the Middle Ages it was part of a convent that stood on its right. Of Gothic origin, it is assumed that the church was built around 1200. Initially inhabited by the Benedictine order, in 1258 it was handed over to the Friars Minor Conventual who resided there until Napoleon Bonaparte suppressed religious orders. Later the monastery was demolished. In front of the church is the park of remembrances in honor of the Procenese fallen of the first and second world wars.
