To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the very first geocache hidden in North Carolina GC70 (Octopus Garden), let's get together and clean up the area where it's hidden!
The Campbell Creek Greenway is a beautiful trail running through south-central Charlotte, and the home of GC70 Octopus Garden, the first geocache hidden in North Carolina on 9/30/2000.
Partnering with Mecklenburg County Parks and Recreation, let's get together to clean up this historic place for Geocaching and care for the Octopus Garden.
Volunteers are expected to bring their own work gloves, trash pickers, water, and snacks. Those with access to pull-along wagons that don't mind them being filled with trash so we can haul what we find to the dumpsters at McApline Creek Park afterward will be greatly appreciated. I will provide the trash bags for us to fill.
Before posting your "Will Attend" log, please fill out this form from Mecklenburg County Parks and Rec. If you are unable to do so, please contact me via geocaching messages or email and I will forward you a copy to fill out and bring with you to the event.
