Poke around the pond in search of this cache basking on the shoreline.
Putting on the GeoTrail every year takes a lot of work, and we couldn't do it without the help from the geocaching community. Thanks to Limont for helping us look after this cache!
This common pet turtle sure is a cutie. Look for the red-stripe behind the eyes to distinguish it from painted and map turtles. While native to southern Ohio, Red-eared sliders are slowly invading ponds throughout the state as pet owners find they are no longer able to take care of them. It is against Ohio law to release pets into the wild. Think twice before purchasing a pet turtle - they can quickly outgrow their tank, which requires regular cleanings and expensive filtration, and turtles can live a lot longer than most people think - up to 100 years!
