Deep in the woods, where the canopy filters the light and the world goes quiet, lies a hidden relic waiting to be found. This isn’t your typical trail. No, just a faint suggestion of one, like the memory of footsteps long since faded. Locals whisper about a hiker named Elias Cook who wandered off the grid, following a deer trail into the forest, and never returned. Some say he was searching for a hidden grove where time stands still. A place only visible when the light filters just right through the trees.
Whether you believe the tale or not, your journey begins where his may have started... barely a trail located just behind the landing of a footbridge. You’ll need to commit to a true bushwhack, since the GZ is about 300 feet deep into the woods. The journey is only half the fun, as the final reward is tucked at the base of one of two twin trees, concealed behind roots that reach out like fingers gripping a long held secret. It’s a low profile container hidden in plain sight, painted brown to blend with its surroundings.
Final Note- a quote scribbled in fading ink on what might’ve been Elias’s last journal entry:
"I followed the stillness, not the trail. If you’ve found this… maybe time has stopped for you too.”
I have provided a waypoint for the best starting point for this journey. There are many ways into the woods to find this GZ, but the waypoint I have provided is, in my opinion, the easiest starting point. Container size is listed as small; it’s bigger than a pill bottle but smaller than a “regular”. Please rehide as found to keep the challenge alive. BYOP (bring your own pen), and enjoy the quiet. If you listen closely, the woods might still be whispering his name.
PLEASE NOTE:
This is a conservation area. There is no disturbance to soil or plant life permitted. So please tread carefully and do your best to respect nature and the surrounding vegetation.
Congrats on the FTF!
