Putting on the GeoTrail every year takes a lot of work, and we couldn't do it without the help from the geocaching community. Thanks to msmandi for helping us look after this cache!
Lesser celandine is a fast-growing, carpet-like groundcover that grows in clumps in wooded areas near rivers and floodplains. When these areas flood, it helps the plants spread to other areas. Its stalks grow slightly higher than nearby groundcover plants, allowing it to take sunlight and soil nutrients from native groundcover. It stores these nutrients in its tuberous root system to use during its short active season.
