This cache belongs to the SideTracked series. It is not designed to take you to a magical place with a breath taking view. Bell Station
This station was originally open in 1875 as Mount Wilson but the name was changed to Bell on 1st May 1889. It was named after Archibold Bell Jnr, who was the first European to plot a route across the Blue Mountains from Richmond. This was completed by 1823 and the Bells Line of Road mostly follows this route.
The station is heritage listed and at 1069 metres above sea level is the highest station on the NSW TrainLink network.
From Decenber 2019 to May 2020 the station was closed due to bushfire damage on the line. It has an island platform and a notice indicates that passsengers must signal the driver if they want to board. They must also notify the guard if they want to alight. This was confirmed by a passenger waiting on the platform.
To find this cache pease do not park on the main road. There is plenty of parking available in the car parking area next to the station.
