25th May - Weekend Litter Pick at Alney Island
Parking: Is at the headline coordinates, please note that you can only access the site from the dual-carriageway going towards Over roundabout, see the trail ahead waypoint to see where to access the car park. There will be plenty of parking onsite as the ranger will open the barrier to allow parking down the lane.
If you are arriving after the start time please park up in the laybay and make your way down to the car parking on foot.
Where: Meet by the metal security gates on the track at the trail ahead waypoint at 1030, we will be directing you down to the parking, or meet us near the published coordinates if arriving by other means. If you are arriving after the time you will find some bags and pickers at the rear of the rangers car, feel free to wander aroung the reserve.
What: Today we will be litter picking and recycling what we can - sadly it's a never ending job! If you do find larger items please make note of their coords and the ranger will sort out collection.
The full bags will need to placed to the side of the pull in at the reference point coords.
How: The Countryside Ranger will be there providing guidance and tools but we ask you to bring your own gloves and a litter picker if you have them.
Health and Safety: The session and will be covered by council insurance as long as you are working under the Countryside Ranger's instruction.
Please bring a drink as it can be thirsty work!
