Technion Ecological Garden
The Technion Ecological Garden was founded in 1982 by the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering, with support of the Technion President of the time. Professor Ron Lovinger, a well known landscape architect who was frequently a guest lecturer at the Faculty of Architecture, planned the rehabilitation of the garden by choosing plants native to Israel and from around the world that would be resilient enough for the conditions, and according to ecological principles. The garden offers a potential solution to the drought issue and lack of open spaces, two pressing environmental issues in Israel.
The garden sits on an area with ancient agricultural terraces, some of which have been rehabilitated and are still there today.
The Cache
The cache is hidden near the orchard area of the garden, with a variety of fruit trees nearby, bearing different fruits throughout the seasons.

הגן האקולוגי בטכניון
הגן הוקם בשנת 1982 ביוזמת הפקולטה לחקלאות בטכניון ובתמיכת נשיא הטכניון בזמנו. פרופ’ רון לובינגר, אדריכל נוף נודע אשר הרבה ללמד כמרצה אורח בפקולטה לארכיטקטורה ובינוי ערים, תכנן את שיקומו של השטח בגן, על ידי התאמת צמחים מהארץ ומהעולם שיהיו עמידים לתנאי השטח, בהתאמה לעקרונות אקולוגיים. שיקום הגן נועד לתת מענה לבעיית המחסור במים ובעיית דילול השטחים הפתוחים, שתי בעיות סביבתיות מרכזיות במדינת ישראל שהתקיימו מאז ועד היום.
הגן יושב על אזור עם טרסות עתיקות מאבן, שחלקן שוקמו במהלך שיקום והקמת הגן וניתן לראותן גם היום.
המטמון
המטמון מוחבא בקירבת אזור הבוסתן בתוך הגן, המניבים פירות שונים ומגוונים לאורך השנה. אנא שימו לב להחזיר את הקופסה למקום שהיה בו.
