Station 6: Umweltfreundlicher Garten und Umgebung 🌸🐝
Das ist deine letzte Station – du bist auf der Zielgeraden! 🏁
Bitte denk auch hier daran: Um die Natur zu schützen, bleibe immer auf den Wegen und führe deinen Hund an der Leine. Alle Caches sind vom Weg aus gut erreichbar, auch für Kinder.
Heute geht es darum, wie du deinen Garten oder Balkon umweltfreundlich gestalten kannst. Unsere heimische Tierwelt ist sehr vielfältig – und genau deshalb braucht sie auch unterschiedlichste Lebensräume. Und das Beste: Jede*r kann mit kleinen Maßnahmen einen Beitrag leisten! 🌿
Viele modische Zierpflanzen, wie z. B. Geranien, haben stark gefüllte Blüten. Dabei werden wichtige Blütenteile, die Insekten als Nahrungsquelle dienen, durch zusätzliche Blütenblätter ersetzt. Sie sind also für Bestäuber wie Bienen oder Schmetterlinge kaum nützlich. Stattdessen sind heimische oder wilde Arten ideal – aber auch Exoten dürfen natürlich im Garten stehen, wenn das Gleichgewicht stimmt. ⚖
Achte darauf, Pflanzen mit gestaffelten Blühzeiten auszuwählen. Besonders im zeitigen Frühjahr und späten Herbst gibt es für Insekten oft wenig Futter – Frühblüher wie Schneeglöckchen sind hier besonders wertvoll! 🌼
Wenn du in deinem Garten einzelne Ecken „wild“ stehen lässt und die Wiese nicht komplett, sondern etappenweise mähst, entstehen Rückzugsorte für Tiere. Auch für die Fortpflanzung sind Strukturen wie sandige Bereiche oder kleine Nischen wichtig – z. B. als Brutplätze für Wildbienen. Am besten schirmst du solche Plätze ab, damit sie ungestört bleiben. Auch Totholz ist ein wertvoller Lebensraum! 🪵
Gerade im Sommer solltest du dafür sorgen, dass Vögel und Insekten ausreichend Wasser finden. Alte Untersetzer für Blumentöpfe kannst du z. B. als Tränken umfunktionieren – mit ein paar kleinen Zweigen drin haben die Insekten gleich eine sichere Landebahn. 💧🦋
Und bitte verzichte unbedingt auf synthetische Gifte – sie wirken nicht nur gegen Schädlinge, sondern auch gegen viele nützliche Arten und stören das empfindliche Gleichgewicht im Garten.

Station 6: Eco-friendly garden and surroundings 🌸🐝
This is your last stop – you're on the home stretch! 🏁Please remember that to protect nature, always stay on the paths and keep your dog on a leash. All caches are easily accessible from the trail, even for children.
Today it's about how you can make your garden or balcony environmentally friendly. Our native wildlife is very diverse - and that's exactly why it needs a wide variety of habitats. And best of all, everyone can make a contribution with small measures! 🌿
Many fashionable ornamental plants, such as geraniums, have heavily featheredflowers. In this process, important flower parts that serve as a food source for insects are replaced by additional petals. They are therefore hardly useful for pollinators such as bees or butterflies. Instead, native or wild species are ideal - but exotic species are of course also allowed in the garden if the balance is right. ⚖
Make sure to select plants with staggered flowering times. Especially in early spring and late autumn, there is often little food for insects - early bloomers such as snowdrops are particularly valuable here! 🌼
If you leave individual corners in your garden "wild" and mow the meadow not completely, but in stages, you will create retreats for animals. Structures such as sandy areas or small niches are also important for reproduction – e.g. as breeding sitesfor wild bees. It is best to shield such places so that they remain undisturbed. Deadwood is also a valuable habitat! 🪵
Especially in summer, you should make sure that birds and insects find enough water. You can convert old coasters for flower pots, for example, into drinking troughs– with a few small twigs in them, the insects have a safe runway. 💧🦋
And please avoid synthetic poisons at all costs – they are effective not only against pests, but also against many useful species and disturb the delicate balance in the garden.
