Geocache Description:

NOTES FOR THIS CACHE:

From the last cache, continue on the SGL road and straight through the two gates. Follow your gps! Just after the second gate, turn left at N40 34.166 W079 05.660 (see waypoint) onto a grassy path that will lead you right to GZ. Otherwise, you can bushwhack the 250-300 feet down from the SGL road.

Here is the highlight of your hike. You have made it! Ferrier Run Falls. Isn't it amazing? This cache is dedicated to the memory of my #500 geocache find on April 1, 2017 - ferrier's run falls (GC38X1P) hidden December 7, 2011 by tedw. It was a very memorable find and area for me. (See the photo gallery for a picture of my log from that day.) When I saw it was archived in 2021, I just knew this place deserved another geocache. It's one of those spots that you likely wouldn't know about if it weren't for geocaching. I hid the cache in nearly the same spot as the original. Please re-hide the cache so it's not visible please.

NOTES FOR THE SERIES:

1) This is a series of 7 caches in SGL 273 in Indiana County. Doing the whole series will require a round trip hike of around 6-7 miles. Stay on the SGL road the whole way, no bushwhacking needed. This SGL road is a gradual uphill for a little over a mile and then it levels out.

2) There is little to NO cell service here. Because of this, the coordinates may be jumpy. I've included good hints on the caches to help. Be sure to download your list offline before arriving.

3) As this is SGL, wear your orange, especially during the main hunting seasons. Be safe, be seen!

4) Use the provided parking coordinates for every cache in this series. It is a large SGL parking lot just off of Route 954. If you use the cache coordinates, your phone or gps may say that this SGL road is drivable (my Apple Maps did.) As far as I can tell, the gate here is NOT open at any time during the year.

5) Be sure to read each cache description "NOTES FOR THIS CACHE that I've put first on each. It includes helpful hints for each individual cache.

6) There is an active mining operation going on close to this SGL. During the day, you may hear and see evidence of this for the first half mile or so. After this, it should be more quiet and peaceful.

7) If you have trouble finding any of these caches, use the hint. I want you to find my caches! And more importantly, I want you to enjoy the locations that these caches bring you to.
