Geocache Description:

One of Allegan County's newest parks, the 260-acre River Junction Preserve sits at the confluence of the Rabbit and Kalamazoo rivers. It contains a wide variety of ecosystems, including marshes, prairies, floodplains, and pine, oak, and hemlock forests. Developed trails allow visitors to explore all the interesting features this preserve has to offer.

This cache is a letterbox, so you must carefully follow the directions in order to find the cache. From the posted coordinates, you will see a trail leading due west. Head down this path. As you exit the parking lot, there will be a sign on your right, which may contain useful information if you wish to also find the multi-cache while at the preserve. Follow the trail through the woods until you come across a small open prairie area on your right. Here, two trails will lead south in quick succession, but do not take them! Instead, continue west and head back into the forest. The trail will eventually curve to the north, and you will soon come across a fork. The trail to your left slopes steeply downward towards the eponymous river junction, while the trail to your right stays on top of the ridge. Take the path to your right, and continue north.

You will soon spot a log cabin. You may enter if you wish, but to find the letterbox you must continue on the trail, even as it turns toward the east, running along a ridge over looking the Rabbit River to the north. Continue on this path until it opens up into a long grassy path, stretching eastwards in a straight line for (almost) as far as the eye can see. A series of wooden electrical poles run parallel to the path. Walk along this path until it turns south toward a small building, beyond which is the parking lot. At this point, retrace your steps slightly until you are standing directly under the second-to-last power pole before the path curves. Note that there is a three-digit number on yellow placards about 15 feet up on the pole (the last pole has no such numbers). Let this number be ABC, and from that pole, do the following projection:

(A-4)(B/7)(C-B-1).(A-A)(B+1)(B) feet at (A-2)(B-4)(B-A-1).(C-C)(C-6) degrees

This cache was placed in coordination with the West Michigan Road Rally Community Celebration Event. FTF rights were reserved for the event attendees. The caches are guaranteed to be around through the end of August, at which time they are subject to being removed.
