Now there's been a rumour 'round these parts that there's a mystery to be solved....
Welcome to the Secret Severn trail! A series of 49 caches placed for the Severn Mega 2025. The walk will take you along footpaths and quiet roads around Tockington, Olveston and Rudgeway with some incredible countryside views and a few glimpses of the Severn Estuary.
The 14km walk starts and ends at Woodhouse Park Activity Centre. If you didn't want to tackle it all in one day it can be split into two smaller walks taking in series 1-4 and 5-7 separately. Permission has been obtained for some bonuses and please note number [27] is a simple tree climb.
There are horses and cows in some fields. Farms have been notified that there could be an increase in footfall on Saturday 2nd August. If you need refreshments en route there is a shop in Olveston, a pub in Tockington and a pub and petrol station in Rudgeway. Please take care crossing the busy A38.
Instructions
The trail consists of 7 sets of 7 caches with the final one in each set being a bonus. Inside the first 6 caches of each set there will be a clue. By the time you arrive at the 6th cache in a set you will have 6 clues (to keep a record as you go around you may find a pen and paper approach useful).
When you get to the 6th cache in a set, you will be able to work out what's missing from that set. To prevent checker-guessing, there will also be a keyword in the 6th caches. Enter the missing answer followed by the keyword to get the bonus cache coordinates.
