Please dress according to the weather. If you feel like starting at early or staying late please do - but the event itself will occur during the actual posted hours.
The purpose of this event is to help clean up parking lot and surrounding trails, park and soccer complex. There is a trail system that starts at the parking lot and continues for more than 30km, depending on how far you choose to venture.
We will be located at the posted coordinates, and will have a log banner for individuals to sign if they wish. There may (or may not) also be snacks - you're encouraged to bring your own beverages as these will not be provided.
The terrain ranged from flat, paved parking lot to dense thickets and long grasses, soft rolling hills, and steep drop offs to the Grand River below. The terrain has been averaged at a 3, however you can choose to stay within the parking lot making this wheelchair accessible, or bring a kayak and clean the shores of the Grand, making this a terrain 5. The choice is yours.
Garbage bags and gloves will be provided at the posted coordinates, although you may wish to bring your own. You may also want to bring your own trash grabber, beverages, refreshments, dry socks, waterproof footwear, hand sanitizer, weather-appropriate attire, kayak, canoe, life jacket, and/or sanitizing wipes.
Trash will be collected and placed near the bins within the parking lot for pickup, which will be arranged with the City of Brantford.
