Geocache Description:

While bike riding and eventually walking along the Montour/Panhandle Trail Connector, I noticed this group of historical signs, highlighting different areas of the Montour Trail that was used by the railroad company when it owned this track of land.  The signs show what life was like years ago along the Montour Trail.  This sign that you will be looking at and using to figure out where the final cache highlights the Montour-Panhandle Connector.  To figure out where the final is, you will need to solve the field puzzle below.  Once you have figured out the puzzle, head on down the trail to search out the final.  The container is hidden about 10 or so feet off the trail.  You will need to provide yourself with a pen to sign the log.

The final coordinates will be found at N 40 21.ABC W 080 15.DEF

A - x0-plus privately owned hoppers

B - About how long was the existing spur extended uphill to meet the Montour

C - The last digit in the year the Champion Coal cleaning plant opened

D - The third digit in the year the Carnegie Coal Company requested service

E - How many hoppers are shown on the top rail line in the picture
0 - 7
1 - 3
2 - 4

F - The number of letters is the 3rd word on the 6th line of the 1st paragraph

To make sure that you solved this correctly, the sum of the above numbers should equal 20.

This cache has been placed along the Montour-Panhandle Connector. The Connector connects the Montour Trail to the Panhandle Trail west of McDonald in Washington County. The Connector is a multi-purpose trail that allows runners, walkers, and cyclist to use the trail. The Connector is available from sunrise to sunset, so please no night caching for this cache or any other of my caches along the trail.  The cache that you will be seeking out for this cache is a preform container.
