Geocache Description:

We are Scout Troop 574 based in Greenfield, Wisconsin.  We are hiding this cache because some members of our troop are completing the Geocaching Merit Badge.  Our cache is a camoflaged ammo box filled with tradable items we left behind, as well as a travel bug we are launching.  You'll understand the name of the cache when you reach its location.  Our cache is hidden off a trail in the Whitnall School Forest, which is accessible to the public both during school hours, as well as non-school hours and days.  Stealth may be necessary.  Please admire the work and improvements made to this natural space over the years, which parts of the forest have been transformed into outdoor learning spaces for students from nearby schools to learn about environmental education in an outdoor, natural setting.  Read more about the Whitnall School Forest projects and enhancements.

Please follow street parking regulations, especially during school hours.  Wearing long pants and sleeves is recommended near the cache site, as you most likely will have to do some bushwacking through some thorns and poison ivy may be along your way to the cache.  Please cover the cache well after finding it and signing our log book.

One of our adult leaders, green & gold, is a teacher at one of the schools near the forest.  Please reach out to him if there are any issues with the cache and we can provide maintenance on it.  We will also be monitoring the logs on this page.  Permission to hide the cache was granted by Dee Schroeder and Jill Matusin of the Whitnall School Forest committee.
