This corner of woodland is part of the Shoreburs greenway which goes from Weston Shore to Bursledon Road. A haven for birds where I have seen woopeckers, songthrush, owls, wrens, blackbirds, robins, nuthatch, blackcap to name but a few - as well as my first sighting of a firecrest. The woods are marred only by the unofficial footpath created by kids as a shortcut between Portsmouth Rd and Botany Bay Rd to and from school.
