Geocache Description:

Geocaching is a worldwide treasure hunt that uses GPS technology to find hidden "caches".  It's designed to be a fun and engaging activity for the entire family.  Geocaching 101 is a basic introduction that teaches you what Geocaching is and how to find caches using the free Geocaching.com app on your phone.  You will also be to see a wide variety of Geocaching containers used in this fun outdoor adventure. Please bring your cell phone and download the Geocaching.com app before attending.  There will be experienced Geocachers here to take you out in the Hammond area after the class to help you find your first "cache".  Also after the class the Hammond Community Library is holding a Geocaching Swag Stone craft event.
