The Windows Walk is an interesting walk exploring some old mining ruins in the Karangahake Gorge. The Dept of Conservation states that the walk is 2.5km and takes an hour. I think that 45 minutes is sufficient if you do not dilly-dally, but still leaves enough time to read the interesting sign-boards along the way.
This multi-cache is intended to guide you around the Windows Walk and the Talisman Battery ruins, with the stages in the recommended order of doing the walk. Don't be put off by the number of stages, as you will walk past all of the waypoints while doing the walk anyway.
The walk will take you through some old mine workings so a torch is recommended, though a phone will suffice. Note that the beams are low in places so taller people will need to be careful so as to not bang their head, especially when returning to the main path from the side tunnels. After wet weather there will be puddles and mud in the tunnels, so please wear appropriate footwear. There is no need to leave the path, and it is quite dangerous to do so. Be aware that there are steep drop offs, so please take care.

A = The number of minutes to get to the Talisman Battery Ruins according to the Department of Conservation (Stage 1 = Posted Co-ordinates).
B = The level number of the Talisman mine that connects to the Dubbo Chute in the Crown Hill mine (Stage 2).
C = The sum of the digits of the maximum load of person [sic] on the swingbridge over the Waitewheta River (Stage 3).
D = The number of the middle ore kiln pit on the upper level (Stage 4).
E = The number of "windows" in the Windows Walk, apart from the first one 35m into the second tunnel (Stage 5).
(Note that your GPS may not work very well while inside the gorge, but the intended location of the waypoint is 35m into the second tunnel. Where you walk in and out of the whole tunnel tunnel I consider to be doors, not "windows").
F = The number of vertical wooden posts beyond the metal gate as you return (exclude the posts the gate is attached to) (Stage 6).
The checksum of these six values added together is 22. This will allow you to check that you have the correct answers, and should allow you to find the final even if you are missing one of the answers. (If you found this necessary, please advise the cache owner).
The cache container is a slightly camo'ed plastic honey jar, with a blue lid, hidden within reach of the path. Please replace it exactly as found.
