The Bus Stop Cafe is a quirky cafe in Te Horo and is a favourite with cyclists on the Kapiti Coast. It is a great destination with very good bike tracks from Paekakariki, Raumati, Paraparaumu and Waikanae in the south or Otaki in the north. It is, as the name suggests, centered around an old bus and has quirky outdoor artworks, gardens, mosaics, a library, a shop selling pickles and preserves as well as a nice selection of food and beverages on offer. There is ample parking for bikes, horses and cars.
The cache is located nearby the entrance to the cafe's carpark and there is space to park off the road by the cache, or else in the cafe carpark. If your plans include a visit to the cafe while finding this cache, it might pay to check first to see if its open which is most weekends 9am-3pm.
The cache contains a log only, so bring your own pen/pencil. It is on a quiet rural road but, as on any road, watch for traffic and bikes - especially exiting the nearby cafe carpark.
Enjoy your visit.
