Sticking with the theme of another one of my caches nearby, let me introduce you to some of our town's history. Before being called Oak Point, our little town had a different name. Way back in 1862, on the coattails of The Peter's Colony, our town name was Sand Town. We started out as a small community of farmers that settled here from North Carolina, the Taylor family owned the land in this area, but nowadays, we can only locate their family cemetery.
