This traditional geocache is located along the old railroad trail as it approaches a series of small lakes linked by a flowing creek, that parallels the bluff ridge. A good distance from the parking area, be prepared for the elements, depending on the season.
This chain of lakes is located on private property so no fishing is allowed. Great views of the swamp from here to Sumter Junction, along this remote section of trail.
The container is a small jar, conveniently placed just off the trail. Take care to return it to the spot to protect the cache for the next adventurers.
Troop 333 discovered the cache before it was made active, while doing trail maintenence in Spring 2025. They signed the log sheet first but left the ftf section blank. Thanks to the scouts for keeping the way open.
Be aware of the possibility for snakes, spiders, wasps, ticks, mosquitoes and other creatures you expect to see in a SC forest. There's no reason to enter any posted property to complete this geocache.
