Passing over the Dead River bridge on CR 550 is a parking spot and well marked trail head. Walking around 1,000 feet on a easy trail (but watch for triping on tree roots) will lead you to a neat spot (of many) on the Dead River Basin. The area is known also as the Tourist Park. There are lots of great trails in that area so enjoy more of the trails if you wish. BTW, within a short distance from the trail head you'll see a neat observation dock for observing ducks and other critters often present.
