The Forest of Dean is an industrial landscape, full of surprises! This cache is very close to an old mine entrance (fully fenced). In the middle of winter, you can sometimes see warm air from the mine steaming out of the ground! Slowly, nature is growing back, and one day you may not be able to tell that this area had a rich industrial heritage.
Please re-hide carefully, fully hidden from sight.
The Purple's Plod Series is a three-mile geocache loop in the woods, consisting of thirteen caches. The walk is on a mix of tracks and paths, which may sometimes be muddy. Allow at least two hours to complete the loop. You will need tweezers to retrieve some of the log books from the cache containers. Mobile phone reception in this area is poor - I recommend you download all the cache details needed before setting off.
