The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation oversees more than 250 parks, historic sites, recreational trails, golf courses, boat launches and more, which were visited by a record 84.1 million people in 2023. in 2024 a record breaking 88.3 million people visited New York State parks, historic sites, campgrounds, and trails. This surpasses the previous record set in 2023 and marks 12 consecutive years of record attendance.
They provide safe and enjoyable recreational and interpretive opportunities for all New York State residents and visitors and aim to be responsible stewards of our valuable natural, historic and cultural resources.
This is a cache to say thank you back to NYS Parks geocaching volunteers who have helped make the summer geocaching challenge and winter series a success year in and year out. Thank you for aiding in our mission this past year.
