***THE CACHE IS NOT AT THE POSTED COORDINATES***
Welcome to the Felis Catus (FC) series! All the caches will either be puzzles or challenges, designed for those that are newer to geocaching but intended to be fun for all. If you haven't guessed, you will be learning lots of fun tidbits about cats as you go.
The Ernest Hemingway Home & Museum in Key West, FL still houses descendants of his original polydactl cat named Snow White. What makes these cats so unique?
They have more than 18 toes. All cats have five on each front foot and four on each back. Polydactylism is a genetic trait that gives the cat an appearance of having "thumbs". The Hemingway home is not the only place to see cats like this, as they really are not that rare. Some cat breeds are more apt to have this trait, such as Maine Coons or Pixiebobs, but can occur in any breed.
Did you know that a MN cat named Paws is tied with another cat from Canada for the Guinness World Record of most toes on a cat?
How many toes does Paws have?
You can validate your puzzle solution with
certitude.
