Geocache Description:

This Cache can hold LOTS of goodies. Please bring something to trade if you take something, and make it ~~Cool~~.

On July 28, 1997, CSU had one of the biggests floods in it's history. After 31 hours of rainfall the campus was FLOODED. This spot was underwater at that time.

Professor of Mechanical Engineering, Patrick Burns said he was watching the news at home later that night and  recalls, "...seeing footage of five feet of dirty water at the CSU Bookstore, where the glue on book bindings dissolved, setting free millions of pages from textbooks that had just come in for the fall 1987 semester".

After $140 million in damages, CSU eventually developed a better flood control plan to prevent this from happening to such a degree again.

Head down to the pond to veiw the high water marks as indicated by the tall information monument after you log this cache :).
