Kohala Mountain Road is known to the locals as "The High Road." The sight of cattle ranches, cacti and pine trees may surprise some visitors who are unfamiliar with the incredible diversity that exists on Big Island. And no exaggerating, the views along this scenic route are probably the most spectacular in the state. When I pulled into an overlook and realized that nothing was hidden there, I said to myself, "Hmm, you've got some caching up to do!" A sneaky plan was immediately devised to put this epic GZ on the Geo-map! After you make the find, turn and face the ocean. You will be looking directly down on Kawaihae Harbor. This view is so incredible, you simply must come and see it for yourself!
