Thirteen Days Of CITOmas Day 4
Date: Fri 4 July
Where: Eastern Park, East Geelong
When: 16:30 - 17:30
This is a participation event!
Geelong has a lot of underplayed highlights. Eastern Park is one of them. Boasting 185-acres of parkland, within its borders are numerous sports fields, the Geelong Botanic Gardens, Geelong Playspace, a golf course, Geelong Conference Centre, and lots of open woodlands. A section of the pine forest has been claimed by Grey-headed Flying Foxes (Pteropus poliocephalus), which is Australia's largest bat species. Although... keep your ears open. Other bats also make this park their home.
Please come on down and help keep this a friendly place for families and bats. It's July, so bring a coat, an umbrella, water bottle and your own gloves. Clean Up Australia will be supplying bags, garbage grabbers, gloves (if you don't have your own), and a sharps container.

Our main targets will be the Hearne Pde Car Park, The "other" car park, the BBQ area and the car parks flanking the southern sports grounds. Those that are more adventurous may do the full walking circuit, and tackle the area close to the flying foxes. There'll be lots for everyone to do.
This event is shared with Clean Up Australia Day.
