Located in Powell Gardens- Kansas City's Botanical Garden. (You do have to pay to enter the gardens. It's well worth it, only 6 to 8 dollars (depending on the season) per adult, $20 family maximum.)
As per the rules of Geocaching, you cannot count this cache unless you have visited the physical location. If you were not standing in Powell Gardens, Missouri, USA when you got the answer, then you are not eligible to claim the find.
With 915 acres, Powell Gardens has exhibits, displays, gardens, and views that rival any botanical garden in North America. The island garden is home to African water lilies with leaves 6 foot in diameter and over 800 varieties of plants. Take the trolley to the Perennial Garden or the Chapel. Take a long hike on the nature trail. This garden is beautiful all year round, with classes, shows, displays, etc.
I started going to Powell Gardens when they offered a Junior Naturalist Program back in the '80's. That was before they had built any of the buildings or gardens, including the lake! My how things have changed! It has been an honor to get to see this place grow.
To claim your prize go to the coordinates, look straight out from the rail, between the split trunks of an Osage Orange / Hedge Apple Tree, and you will see a sculpture of two animals. The password to the certificate is what kind of animal you see. E-Mail me what the sclupture is or better yet post some pics of the Gardens (but NOT of the sclupture) to get credit. Thanks.
