Pioneer Park is a lovely recreation area located just behind Napperby Primary School. The park holds a memorial dedicated to the Pioneers of Napperby, a bike track, basketball area, covered picnic table and open grassed area ideal for kicking a ball around. Napperby is a small town about 12km from Port Pirie and has a population of about 600 residents. The area was first settled in the mid 1800's with the township being formally established in 1877. Over time Napperby was a thriving farming and market garden area. The market gardens are pretty much gone now, but farming remains strong in the area.
