Get Along Little Doggie (Git Along Little Dogie) is a line from a traditional cowboy ballad, describing the process of rounding up and branding these motherless calves.
However, this cache is NOT about cowboys or rounding up motherless calves.
Instead, this is a tribute cache to those who "can't just have one" of those cute Dachshunds (weiner dogs). Specifically, this is a tribute to one of my bestest geocaching buddies, BFredericks88 - but I know that she is NOT the only cacher who collects Dachshunds!

First there was Charley. How did Charley come to be Dachshund #1? It was all the fault ot dlbenton who spotted him at a pet store and immediately called BFredericks88 (who grew up with Dachshunds) and told her to come. dlbenton stayed with Charley until BFredericks88 arrived and the rest is history!
Secondly came Elvis. How did Elvis come to be Dachshund #2? BFredericks88 decided she wanted another Dachshund and her heart was set on Lucy. However, she had not yet filled out the application and before she could do so, someone else claimed Lucy. BFredericks88 was encouraged to fill out an application to be ready should another Dachshund she desired become available and she did just that. Shortly thereafter, Felix became available! When they called about him, BFredericks88 said if Charley liked him, she would take him. She took Charley to meet Felix and the rest is history. Felix was renamed Elvis. Just so everyone knows, Elvis is so very handsome and my personal favorite.
Lastly came Ruby. How did Ruby come to be Dachshund #3? BFredericks actually planned for her. She was not a spur of the moment acquisition. Ruby was born and BFredericks88 chose her and waited for her to be ready to leave the roost. Ruby arrived Memorial Day weekend of 2022. She is the naughtiest of the BFredericks88's Dachshunds.
All three of BFredericks88 "long little doggies" are well loved and cared for. BFredericks88 has made mention of adding one last long little doggie to her family, but insists that it would have to be an English cream mini dachshund.
To everyone out there who has a "long little doggie" this cache is for you! Are you like BFredericks88, who can't just have one?! Let's hear your story when you log this cache.
Please take care with the container and make sure to attach it back properly so that the next cachers can enjoy it. Many thanks to jspleva for creating this very uniquely themed container!
