The cache is not at the posted coordinates, but the instructions below should lead you to the cache a modest walk or bike ride from the starting point. The posted coordinates will take you to the Hellyer Park Veloldrome sign. The entrance to the Velodrome, when it's open, is down the paved path along the fence (the cache is not there, either). For more information about the Velodrome, you can look at Hellyer Velodrome History.
To find the cache location, look to your left as you face the sign. You should see over past the restroom a paved bike path, which kind of strangely since we are on the valley floor is part of the Bay Area Ridge Trail. Make your way over to the path and go right along the Velodrome. Just as the Velodrome is "fading" away to your right, you should see on your left a power pole with a large adjacent metal support structure. It has electrical boxes, but the cache is not on any of those or close to them. Check out the back side of the structure from the right side. You're looking for a decon container magnetically attached. Except for the last few feet this would be wheelchair accessible.
NOTE: Please leave the stamp and inkpad in the cache. They are not trade items.
Please visit only during park hours of 8am to sunset if you arrive by vehicle (fee or pass required), sunrise to sunset if you arrive by foot, bike or horse.
