Jeinukoak, los sirvientes

Jeinukoak (Jainkoak edo Jinkoak ere deituak) euskal mitologian jainkozko edo naturaz gaindiko entitate txikiak dira, kristautzearen aurreko arbasoen panteoia osatzen dutenak. Terminoa "Jainko" edo "Jaungoikoa"-tik dator, hitzez hitz "Goikokoa" esan nahi duena, testuinguru zahar eta mitologikoetan zeruko jainko edo jainkozko indarrak aipatzen dituena.

Zeruko edo jainkozko izakiak dira, ikusezinak baina eragingarriak direnak. Ez dute forma fisiko zehazturik, trumoia, tximista, haizea edo argia bezalako elementu naturalen bidez sentitu edo agertzen diren arren. Giza munduaren eta sakratuaren arteko bitartekaritzat hartzen dira.

Ugalkortasunagatik, uztagatik, osasunagatik deitzen zituzten. Bitartekariak dira eta gizakiak mundu ikusezinarekin lotzen ditu. Jeinukoak Mari edo Sugaarren zerbitzariak dira. Lausenguak edo Erdi Aroan kristaututako aingeruekin ere nahastu edo nahastu izan dira.

Jeinukoek gogorarazi dute euskal mitologiak ez zuela jainko ahalguztidun bakar bat, entitate natural, arbaso eta aldakorren mosaiko bat baizik. Jainkozkoa ingurunean, urtaroetan eta gauza guztiak lotzen dituzten indar ikusezinak ikusten zituen espiritualtasun baten parte ziren.

The Jeinukoak (also called Jainkoak or Jinkoak) are, in Basque mythology, minor divine or supernatural entities, part of the ancestral pantheon prior to Christianization. The term comes from "Jainko" or "Jaungoikoa," literally meaning "He from Above," which in ancient and mythological contexts refers to gods or divine forces from the sky.

They are celestial or divine beings, invisible but influential. They have no defined physical form, although they are felt or manifest through natural elements such as thunder, lightning, wind, or light. They are considered intermediaries between the human world and the sacred.

They were invoked for fertility, harvest, and health. They are intermediaries and connect humans with the invisible world. The Jeinukoak are servants of Mari or Sugaar. They have also been confused or conflated with the Lausenguak (whispering spirits) or with Christianized angels in medieval times.

The Jeinukoak remind us that Basque mythology did not have a single, omnipotent god, but rather a mosaic of natural, ancestral, and ever-changing entities. They were part of a spirituality that saw the divine in the environment, the seasons, and the invisible forces that connect all things.
