The cache is NOT at the posted coordinates, but those will take you to and impressive cast statue and what appears to be an evolving location and quite close to the cache itself. More on the cache below.
The images below show the evolution an area that was originally just a grassy area into what is, apparently, intended to simulate a natural wildlife environment. It does appear that the "plan" for the area also evolved -- notice that the nice big log in the November 2022 image is now gone. There is a small dear "family" close to the entry point in the distance, but this is the only elk I found. Will there be more??? Regardless, I thought the spot was worth marking.
To make this just a little bit more than a common traditional cache, I have made it a very easy "projection" puzzle cache. The projection can be done in advance, or can be done as a simple field puzzle by simply moving a short distance away from the posted coordinates while watching the distance and bearing.
To get to the cache location, project a point 50 feet at a bearing of 120 degrees true north from the posted coords. There you will find the cache, a camoed pill bottle, in a very obvious location. The cache is fully wheelchair accessible.
Please visit only during park hours of 8am to sunset if you arrive by vehicle (fee or pass required), sunrise to sunset if you arrive by foot, bike or horse.
