Do not turn in at Point-au-Roche State Park. Turn in just past the park at Point-Au-Roche Outdoor Interpretive Center,drive in to the parking lot at the interpretive center. Take the Long Point Trail(ORANGE) an easy hike to the end. Requires some walking on rocks to get to cache, rocks will be slippery if wet.
Cache consists of "pirate" type items, thus the name "Booty Cache"; eye patch, stuffed parrot, a useless map, flag decal, where's George dollar, small stuffed animals, silly putty, Adirondack key ring, matchbox school bus, Plattsburgh worry stone, and a Travel Bug--Niagara Falls School Bus", camera and log book with pen, pencil and sharpener. Cache is in a green ammo can. Best to walk past the cache and approach it from the lake side. Does not require getting in the lake, however.
Parking is free, use lot at N44 46.88100; W073 22.65940. Follow any orange marked trail to Rocky Point. Also check out Booty Pointless since you're in the vicinity.
