NCN NR645 - Bilsthorpe Colliery Railway #4
A series of caches of varying types placed on the former Bilsthorpe Colliery branch line which is now NCN route 645. The series is numbered starting from Bilsthorpe but if you fancy a longer walk/ride then you can pick up the trail from Vicar Water (see waypoint). One or two of the caches might provide a challenge but most are relatively easy and are designed to simply inject some extra fun in to what I think is a brilliant walk. Some of the cache locations might be familiar to some and that is because a few are replacements to previously archived caches but most are new caches in their own right.
Be advised that during autumn and winter the ground can become very wet and muddy so good footwear is recommended.
If you're starting from Vicar Water, you can park for free. There are toilets and a cafe here. You can also park near Bilsthorpe Business Park (see waypoint).
Coordinates might be a little rough here due to tree cover so please allow your GPS to settle if possible.
Tweezers are recommended. For the benefit of future finders please replace the cache exactly as found. Thanks!
