Geocache Description:

9/7/18 EDIT: No longer a regular size- there are signs of activity here (possibly someone setting up camp not far?) which is likely why a cache that large disappeared. Replaced with a bison tube hidden more inconspicuously.

This cache was hidden on Christmas Day, 2002, and is a cylindrical container, about two feet long.

Please re-hide the cache better than you found it! Thanks!

Based on a Russian fairy tale, this cache exposes you to the scary story of Baba Yaga, a sneaky witch who lives in a hut that turns around and around on a chicken leg.

Little Vassilisa's cruel stepmother sends the clever girl through the forest to her aunt's house to borrow a needle and thread. But Baba Yaga catches her and forces her to cook meals, scrub the floors, and weave at the loom.

Only Vassilisa's kindness to Baba Yaga's cat, dog, and birch tree can save her.

This is a 9Key cache, and therefore has a musical connection. The Hut of Baba Yaga tale was the inspiration for a classical composition by Mussorgsky.

The tale was brought into the popular music scene by Emerson, Lake, and Palmer on their "Pictures from an Exhibition" album.

BCR was the first to find and log this cache and enters the 9Key Hall of Fame
