Beixinqiao is located at the intersection of Dongzhimennei Street and Yonghegong Street and is served by Beixinqiao Station on Metro Line 5. Although its name includes the word "bridge," there was originally no actual bridge here—let alone the typical bridge wings. Instead, the name comes from a famous local legend about the "Dragon-Locking Well," which explains why it was called a "new bridge." Later, to match the place name, a small symbolic bridge was built on flat ground and named Beixinqiao. Together with the nearby Beiding Niangniang Temple, it is one of the area’s well-known sites rich in folklore.
As you exit the metro station, you'll see to the east streets lined with red lanterns and dazzling neon signs in all colors. And of course, thousands of visitors. This is the famous Guijie Street (literally “Ghost Street”), where you can immerse yourself in the Beijing nightlife and experience the charm of traditional Chinese culture.
