HMP indicates this cache is located on the Virginia Hurd Morin Preserve Trails. The Virginia H Morin Preserve P&G geocache marks the parking lot OR you may drive into the Reverand Moses Sweat Homestead (374 School Street) and park behind the homestead.
Virginia Hurd Morin, who passed away in 2022 at age 99, bequested 95 acres of undisturbed woodland (which encompassed the Reverent Sweat 1786 Homestead) and the means with which to restore the property to the Mousam Way Land Trust. In conjunction with the Sanford-Springvale Historical Society, a restoration plan was developed with work started on this lower School Street property in January, 2023. If you would like to view this well documented process, go to www.sweatmorinhomestead.org/ Now, two and a half years later (June, 2025), I'd say about 80 per cent of the restoration is done including development of at least half of the planned trails. So....it's time to introduce geocachers to this incredible gift to Sanford.
You are looking for a regular size canister that contains packets to tap your inner creativity. Each baggie contains a paper Easter egg filled with confetti and some google eyes. Your challenge is to use ALL these materials along with whatever else you want to make a "piece of art", then post a picture of your creation on the cache page. Adults -- channel your inner creativity. Kids -- don't let the adults out do you!! Great project for parents/grandparents and children to do together, too!! I'm hoping this will be a new interactive cache variation. Let me know when the supply dwindles and I'll replace them. No need to leave any swag. Have fun!
