Puistoidea on alunperin liperiläisen Mika Vanhasen, joka on reilun kahdenkymmenen vuoden ajan innostanut kouluja eri puolilla maailmaa istuttamaan puita. Tämä puisto on toinen Suomeen istutettu Rauhanympyrä, ensimmäinen on Liperin Ylämyllyllä.

The idea of peace circles is originally by Mika Vanhanen of Liperi who has encouraged schools all over the world to plant trees. Jämsä Peace Circle is the second one in Finland, after the first in Liperi.
