SideTracked 200 - Cockfosters

Geocachers love railways. 

Cockfosters Station is an art deco 1933-vintage Charles Holden-designed Underground station at the end of the Picadilly line

With the start of Railway 200 celebrations, this event is an opportunity for geocachers to get together and talk trains, railways and all things chemin-de-fer, to swap ideas for their summer's geocaching adventures and talk about what they hope to do to celebrate 200 years of public passenger railways.

Do bring some small trackables to swap.

This geocaching event will be held on the opposite side of the street to the station (i.e. not within the station property). 

There's a coffee shop nearby.

Railway 200 is a community programme of events associated with the two-hundredth anniversary of public passenger railways. More information on other events can be found on their website. With events throughout the year, the focus will be around 27 September 2025, around which there will be also be some SideTracked 200 Geocaching events.

As a bonus note, as part of the TfL25 and Railway 200 celebrations, over this weekend the London Transport Museum will be operating its heritage tube train dating back from 1938 on the Piccadilly line, with this train arriving at Cockfosters on the Sunday around 11:45 and departing around 12:30. You may wish to see this up close but note that a heritage ticket or travel payment is required to cross the gateline to access the platform.
