Geocache Description:

The Winter solstice marks Australia's shortest day and longest night of the year, interestingly its caused by the Earth’s annual orbit around the sun. It occurs when the South Pole is tilted at its maximum angle away from the sun, meaning Australia receives the least direct sunlight.

Come and join us for the best day of the year. From this point onwards the days are getting longer and we're one step closer to the warmth of Summer.

To mark this milestone, join us as we watch the sunset over the Illawarra escarpment at 4:52pm while taking the time to clean-up the immediate vicinity. Geocaching HQ will provide a souviner for those attending.

The ICC will provide the gloves and rubbish bags.
